Sherlock is half French? I regret nothing!

I apologize in advance if something is spelled incorrectly. I'm tired.

A BIG Thank You to all the replies I received regarding this deviation: [link]

Enjoy!

Okay, okay, okay, I'm going to have to put a serious effort into pushing down my desire to just giggle and flail and fangirl over this piece, and actually write an intelligent comment worthy of this piece. Because it's far too good to just say "OMG so awesome, I love it." Even if it is and I do. :D

Okay, first off. I really love your art style! The lines are smooth and elegant, showing serious skill and true talent. I've been on dA a while and one thing I know is that when you see something of honest quality, it's obvious to everyone looking that talent is present. Some things can't be taught and you have a skill that is unique to you, because, judging from the way it looks, it seems so natural and easy. The shape of it all is so precise, as though it couldn't have been done by hand, yet it shows a lot of care and fun involved in it's creation.

The expressions match the characters perfectly. You caught the perfect balance between gorgeous fantasy and reality. They're so realistic and true to their actor's likeness, and even the subtle little quirks of their eyebrows or a faint glimmer in their eyes or a simple hand gesture is so true to the characters and adds a whole new level of intensity. You seriously catch the mannerisms so well. You just add all the subtle little things that may not be directly noticed, but gives a mysterious familiarity to it.

And the dialogue! When I'm not so mesmerized by your art, I'm laughing my ass off at your witty banter! And all the little enticing pieces that add spice to the mix, even something as simple as Sherlock calling John, 'Watson'! :la: It just makes things so much more fun! As a writer, I find myself stopping and thinking 'wow, that was bloody genuis' or 'sheesh, I need to remember that one'. And, as I said earlier, it's all so true to character and I could totally envision them saying that.

Story wise, this was also brilliant. From what I picked up, I assume Sherlock went to dinner with his mother and Mycroft and they razzed him about being too attached to John, or him not being as detached as he always boasted. Upset and mildly embarrassed, Sherlock decided to get wasted. That is perfect fanfiction plot because it's so canonically plausible! Even outside of slash, that just makes sense for the characters to do that!

I've always been interested in drunk!Sherlock because it gave Sherlock a chance to put his mind on pause and just act for once in his life, so for him to be fighting along that thin line of logic and implulse is so enticing! Then he's trying to fight it by reengaging his mind, but it's only partly working as his body takes the side of impulse and... Gold! Especially that line in the middle about ruling out the impossible!

And the look on John's face, like he has no idea what's going on is perfect! Really captured the feel of your bigger friend being drunk off his ass and rambling off nonsense while pinning you to the wall. Yet in Sherlock's intoxicated mind it makes perfect sense and, and, and... :hooray:

There's probably more for me to say, but all I can think of at the moment is; you nailed it. :iconclapplz: Instant favorite!

Oh. My. Gasp. This COMMENT! ada;gnr;nagkad *smacks keyboard* *it's all I can do* *ffffff*

I can't take any credit for the dialogue or the plot. When I posted the lineart, I asked if anyone was willing to give the first sketch some context. I got a number of replies. So this whole comic is all the contexts put together. XD BUT AHHHH! You really like my art style! That's so amazing! Thank youuuu! *gushgushgush* I'm just...I'm going to save this and tack it to my wall. I'm BLOWN AWAY you think so highly of my style and the expressions and the movement I employ for the characters. :excited:

Let me love you!

Thank you! He doesn't really need the suspenders, but I'm a mean ol' artist that does what she wants. Would have put him in a bow tie, but that's hard to tug on, isn't it? ^^

I actually read a story where he was half french....It was called 'A very cold case' I believe. It is quite good. Set in Russia.Rather intersting. You should read it. It was written before series 2 came out and is set after the pool, but that does not matter. They did not go into detail or anything about how the pool scene ended so it is all good.

what I mean when I say femme fatale -> [link]

I do not think his love of 'very fitted' shirts would change just because his gender did...plus he is tall.

I have not read anything where he is a women either. I was just talking about how sherlock looks like a total femme fatale (frenchy word used to decribe a seductive/attractive and dangerous women) when people gender bend him...
